Bealtaine 2022: Writing 1922
The Bealtaine Festival and the National Library of Ireland presented an evening of readings from the collections of the National Library.
Readings by Cathy Belton & David Herlihy. Presented and narrated by Doireann Ní Bhríain.
1922 was a very turbulent year in Ireland with the foundation of the Free State but the starting of the Civil War. In this event we heard readings from literary works published that fateful year, including letters from Irish nationalist Roger Casement.
