From evening light to brooding dark clouds, there is a wealth of atmospheric landscape images in the collection depicting the nature of weather. This May, as part of the National Gallery of Ireland’s programme of events for Bealtaine, artist Ciara Harrison will lead two watercolour workshops looking at landscape with an emphasis on depicting different types of weather.
These workshops are suitable for complete beginners. Participants will be given practical techniques on using the watercolour medium and shown how to create a landscape. For creative inspiration, Ciara will introduce the session by referring to artists in the collection who added atmosphere and depth to their landscape compositions through their depictions of the skies.
The workshops is free of charge and all materials will be provided.
