Shared Reading is a novel way of exploring the reading experience with others. A friendly trained leader provides a welcome and the text of something chosen to read aloud. This could be a poem, story or piece of literature. The leader will stop and talk about what has just been read. There is no need for you to read aloud or speak unless you would like to – it’s fine just to listen. Shared Reading offers a welcoming space for individuals to form real connections with the literature, each other and themselves in real-time.
