This workshop introduces participants to monoprinting and expressive mark-making, inspired by the dramatic use of light and storytelling in “The Cardsharps” by Caravaggio, which once resided in Strokestown House.
Participants will explore chiaroscuro, working with ink, rollers, and materials to produce unique black-and-white experimental monoprints. The session also highlights the historical connections of The Cardsharps to collections at Strokestown Park House, showing how European artworks appeared in Irish country houses in the 19th–20th centuries.
By the end of the session, participants will create a series of expressive prints inspired by Caravaggio.
