Event Description

A discussion and art class for older people with Paul Bokslag. This event will explore Ireland’s natural biodiversity and participants’ memories of changing Kilkenny landscapes and habitats. The event will begin with a facilitated discussion around the idea of ‘shifting baselines’, how knowledge about the natural world is lost over time. Inspired by these memories, and working in paper cutting techniques, participants will work on silhouettes of local plant and animal series.

A collective artwork will be created from the scanned silhouettes after the workshop and this will be launched at an event on May 29th for further details see butlergallery.ie
