‘Forgotten Photos’ is a visual art workshop held with artist Frances Crowe as part of the national Bealtaine Festival Roots and Shoots Visual Arts programme.
Following on from the success of the “In Memory of Cloth” Project which Frances facilitated in May of 2022 at Roscommon Arts Centre, she will now investigate how “Forgotten Photographs” can be manipulated by hand stitching directly onto these vintage images with colourful thread. These worn photographs carry enigmatic narratives which can be brought to life with a needle and thread.
Participants will need to bring:
• Vintage photographs, Black and white images of family members, Parents and grandparents wedding photos etc. (Either originals or photocopies of the originals – they will be stitching onto it)
• Embroidery threads, needles, scissors.
Workshop spaces are limited and booking is required.
