Dance Theatre of Ireland’s
Vintage Youth, Senior Performance Ensemble in
“Mountain At My Feet”
Mon, May 29, 3.30pm
@ DTI Centre for Dance, Dun Laoghaire
Dance Theatre of Ireland’s VINTAGE YOUTH will perform a new work-in-progress “Mountain At My Feet” for the Bealtaine Festival. Celebrate the month of BEALTAINE with this informal performance which in dance, music and spoken word reflects on the collective memories, and experience of the group and what inspirational people and moments have sustained and fueled their lives.
VINTAGE YOUTH Ensemble is Dance Theatre of Ireland’s Senior performance group, an open group of older adults who came together as an outgrowth of DTI’s WELL-DANCE for Seniors modern dance classes. Their desire to delve more deeply into the art of dance and performance led to the group’s formation. Since 2015 they have created and performed many original dance works in Theatres and for many public events and Festivals under the direction of DTI Artistic Directors, Loretta Yurick and Robert Connor.
Their short film last year, STILL HERE https://youtu.be/6hu8g_3qM – so poignantly capturing the experiences of many Seniors throughout the Pandemic has moved hundreds.
Dance Theatre of Ireland / Vintage Youth are grateful to be supported by The Arts Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, HSE, and the National
