‘In the Picture’ offers a guided exhibition tour specifically designed to support people living with dementia and their family, friends, or professional carers, to engage with the artwork on show and enjoy a social experience. These special tours are about making observations, describing, and building connections. Allowing each person, the time to comfortably observe and experience the space and artwork. This seated tour includes light refreshments as part of the social and friendly approach.

About the exhibition and facilitator…
This session is delivered by our artist facilitator Sarah Ruttle and care professional Sarah Cairns, and takes place in galleries I & II during UILLINN_THE FALLOUTa contextual mixed media installation by Portuguese artist Sérgio Leitão where images, objects and situations unfold in response to interaction with the public. The exhibition addresses Skibbereen’s past and present contexts, from the 1631 Sack of Baltimore that led to development of the Capital of the Carberies, to a colourful and vibrant town, including found graphic elements and objects as well as different production and research tools.
