Margaret Galvin will facilitate a creative writing workshop in Cahir Arts Gallery and Studio as part of Tipperary Bealtaine Festival 2023. This workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to access and explore their memories of the people, locations and events that have shaped them. Poems and essays will be examined and writing prompts offered to stimulate and guide recall. The workshop creates a space where participants can pay particular attention to what is defining in their lives and to use that as a basis for writing. They will discover how engaging with the memory of everyday, seemingly inconsequential matters, can be revealing, exciting and rich in creative possibility. No formal writing experience is expected or assumed.
