Coming Soon: Celebrating Lifelong Creativity – International Day of Older Persons, 1st October 2025
To mark the upcoming International Day of Older Persons, we are proud to announce two special releases that celebrate the diversity of older people and importance of lifelong creativity.
On 1st October, we’ll launch an exclusive online screening of Rebellious Hope which will be available to watch for 24hrs only. Rebellious Hope is a powerful new dance film by Company Philip Connaughton. Commissioned by Bealtaine and Project Arts Centre, and produced by Once Off Productions, Rebellious Hope is a short dance film by choreographer Philip Connaughton, filmmaker Luca Truffarelli, and composer Mel Mercier. The film features acclaimed performers from Ireland and France (ages 46–85) including Joanna Banks, Jonathan Mitchell, Amy Swanson Salmon, Ashley Chen, Fearghus Ó Conchúir, John Scott, and Magali Caillet Gajan. The film explores the enduring artistic drive, growth, learning, and the relentless pursuit of creative evolution.
Also launching on the same day is An Internship in the Forest, a new essay by Dr Trudy Meehan, Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences. This will be released on our website www.bealtaine.ie .
