Family Carers Writing Project with Shaun Dunne

Family Carers Writing Project with Shaun Dunne

This free creative writing project is for people who are 50+, living in Fingal. It is designed to start a creative conversation on the subject of care in older age. The project is looking for people who are family carers, have been family carers or who are themselves cared for by a family member.

The series of online creative writing workshops is facilitated by acclaimed playwright Shaun Dunne.

No previous experience of creative writing is required for this project. Participants will be facilitated to develop their own original writing, based on their personal experiences.  This writing will form the basis of a new theatre production scheduled to take place in 2021 as part of the Bealtaine Festival.

Age & Opportunity is the national organisation that provides a range of opportunities for older people who want to get more involved in arts and culture, sport and physical activity, civic engagement and personal development. Our aim is to inspire people aged 50+ to be more active, more visible, more creative and more connected.

This project is funded by Fingal County Council through a Creative Ireland fund.

The workshops will be delivered via Zoom. To book your place, please contact Eva Griffin, Arts Programme Administrator, Age & Opportunity at 01 805 7713 or with ‘Fingal Creative Writing’ in the subject line. Places are free but limited.
