Bealtaine Flagship Choir 2020 Announced!
Age & Opportunity is delighted to announce Ceol le Chéile - Donegal Choir of Ages as the Bealtaine Flagship Choir for 2020, for its Dawn and Dusk Chorus events.
The Donegal Intergenerational Music project Ceol le Chéile is a collaborative social inclusion initiative, led by Donegal County Council and supported by the HSE, Healthy Ireland, Creative Ireland, Letterkenny Institute of Technology and Local Link.
The choir have performed 13 times in public to date, headlining Donegal’s flagship cultural festival, Earagail Arts Festival along with Daniel O Donnell in 2018 and with Máire Brennan from Clannad in 2019. The choir has also performed at various social inclusion events including Social Inclusion Week, Connecting for Life conference, National Convention of Older Persons Councils and the launch of the TILDA mental health in older people conference. During Bealtaine 2019 the choir performed at numerous nursing homes in the county.
Festival Director Tara Byrne said of the annoucement “ the Dawn and Dusk Chorus are our longest running and most beloved Bealtaine events and we are thrilled to mark our 25th anniversary with Ceol le Chéile as the Bealtaine flagship choir. We are particularly delighted to be celebrating the beginning of Spring in the stunning county of Donegal and that the choir will involve all the generations”.
