Visual Artist Ciara Rodgers invites you to join her in a series of online workshops consisting of some light art appreciation and drawing tutorials. Suitable for beginners, Ciara will lead participants through introductions to architectural drawing, botanical illustration and still-life using objects and materials found within the home and garden. Workshop One is on Botanical Illustration. Ciara Rodgers is an Irish visual artist based in Cork City, Ireland. She obtained a B.A (hons) in Fine Art from Crawford College of Art and Design and an MA in Art and Process (MA:AP) in 2018. Her practice includes instant analogue photography and charcoal drawing with research focused on the modern ruin and the defunct debris that remains as human technology advances quickly. The artist also writes a blog about her practice to solidify her ideas and illustrate the narratives around her studio work. Rodgers’ has exhibited in group shows in Irish galleries and her drawing works are part of corporate, private and college collections. Her first solo exhibition, Monuments of Abandoned Futures takes place in mid- September 2019. The artist currently holds a graduate artists residency in the MA:AP studios and regularly facilitates artist led workshops at The Glucksman, University College Cork. Rodgers was artist in residence with Castleisland Day Care Centre in 2019, as part of the Age & Opportunity Artist in Residence in a Care Setting initiative.
