Have you ever wanted to learn a little about photography, meet some like minded people and maybe even try some simple techniques? No experience is necessary to join our virtual photography club and you can even get involved using your smartphone! Running every Tuesday in May, photographer Brian Cooney will lead you through the story of some iconic photographs while trying your hand at capturing the world as it is right now, from your point of view. Brian Cooney is a visual artist, originally from Dublin, now living and working in the west of Ireland. Choosing the west as his home has had a big influence on his work which is concerned with myth, identity and place. His work is primarily lens based. He came to the arts as a mature student choosing to study photography and holds a BA (Hons) in Photography from the University for the Creative Arts. His first solo exhibition No Place Like Home featured as part of the 2018 PhotoIreland festival. Brian was artist residence in St. John's Community Hospital Sligo as part of Age & Opportunity's 2019 Artist in Residence in a Care Setting initiative.
